Dear Mark, Shane & Jenny, My heart skipped a beat when I heard that your dad had died. He was both loved & beloved by so many - a gift itself. My admiration for Norm's utter devotion in raising you cats after your mom died is immeasurable. Yes, the Beers & Luxton kids shared a hard early knowledge about the death of a parent. But we also shared the knowledge that our surviving parent was fierce: in loyalty, determination, resilience & love. As an adult I am simply awed by that kind of human spirit & courage. Your dad was so lovely! I remember his smile, with those tricky, sparkling, laughing eyes. I remember his kindness & love of music. Above all, Norm's love for you 3 kids was truly extraordinary; each day, year after year, he showed it in his actions. Indeed, your dad was the epitome of what it means to be a 'good man' - a rare & inspiring thing. So in the words of Merle: "Sing it sweet and sing it low, And then I'll have to go." T'was a true honour to have known you 'Mr. Luxton.' Mark, Shane & Jenny, my heart is with yours. Love, Kelly
