Condolence: To Norm's Family
On this first Anniversary of Norm's passing we send our heartfelt sympathy.
When we lose someone special, I have always found it interesting how our lives and the world can just carry on. A year has passed for you and although I can't honestly say it gets any easier with the years, we hope you will all find a certain peace and acceptance.

Condolence: Dear Mark, Shane & Jenny,
My heart skipped a beat when I heard that your dad had died. He was both loved & beloved by so many - a gift itself. My admiration for Norm's utter devotion in raising you cats after your mom died is immeasurable. Yes, the Beers & Luxton kids shared a hard early knowledge about the death of a parent. But we also shared the knowledge that our surviving parent was fierce: in loyalty, determination, resilience & love. As an adult I am simply awed by that kind of human spirit & courage.
Your dad was so lovely! I remember his smile, with those tricky, sparkling, laughing eyes. I remember his kindness & love of music. Above all, Norm's love for you 3 kids was truly extraordinary; each day, year after year, he showed it in his actions. Indeed, your dad was the epitome of what it means to be a 'good man' - a rare & inspiring thing.
So in the words of Merle:
"Sing it sweet and sing it low,
And then I'll have to go."
T'was a true honour to have known you 'Mr. Luxton.'
Mark, Shane & Jenny, my heart is with yours.
Love, Kelly

Condolence: Mark,Shane and Jennifer(Juniper),
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad. So many memories come to mind, yet that picture of Norm is how I remember him best. A warm wave greeting, smiling with a mischievous glint in his eyes. Your Dad made your house a home, one so many of your friends and family always felt welcome at.Within that caring circle laughter, tears, music, conversation and a sense of caring for others always held sway.Norm loved his music, knew his classic country and bluegrass, and wherever the guitars were at a gathering, that's where he was.How many times I'd stop by and hear Merle,Hank,Mac or George on the kitchen stereo, knock and be welcomed in by your Dad,you nowhere to be found.Didn't matter, stay and have a chat, laugh and never felt like you were unwelcome. And despite the challenge of raising three kids without your Mom, your Dad kept a wonderful sense of youthful joy and humour. The ability to laugh with life, something I see so clearly in his children(the legendary flaming marshmallow to the head incident comes to mind)supported his fierce love of his family.Your Dad was a truly kind, caring, interesting person.I can say that knowing him as your Dad,and as a friend was a gift. I'll miss him.
Tonight I'll have a glass of rye and put Mac Wiseman on the record player. That seems about right .Fly safely Normie.
Todd
