Trevor Charbonneau, Owner, Funeral Director Trevor Charbonneau purchased Morris Funeral Chapel in 2014. He is also the owner of Newcastle Funeral Home since 2012. Originally from a small town in Northern Ontario, Trevor has had experience in working for both large and small funeral homes. He graduated with Honours from Humber College in 2000 and also achieved Honours on his Board of Funeral Services Licensing Exam. Trevor started his career as a licensed funeral director in 2000 at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home in Toronto, Ontario. He eventually became the Assistant Manager there, and then was promoted a few years later as Manager at Jerrett Funeral Home in Scarborough, Ontario. |

![]() | Doug Rutherford, Funeral Director (Retired) Doug Rutherford has been a funeral director at Morris Funeral Chapel since 1991. Doug’s career as a funeral director began at Jerrett Funeral Home in 1977, where he worked as a student while enrolled at Humber College. He continued to work at Jerrett’s as a funeral director after receiving his license in 1978 and remained in this role until 1991 when he moved to Bowmanville with his wife and three children to join the team at Morris Funeral Chapel. Doug was born and raised in Orono; his family heritage goes back many generations in the Clarington community and his family continues to reside in the area today. Doug has been an active member of the Lions Club of Bowmanville since 2002 and he enjoys this additional opportunity to serve the community. |
![]() | Paul R. Morris Paul was born and raised in Bowmanville and was the 6th generation to own and operate the family business. Paul graduated from Humber College Health Sciences as a licensed funeral director in 1972. After 2 years of apprenticing and 6 years as a licensed funeral director with the Jerrett Funeral Chapels Ltd. in Toronto as manager of their St. Clair Chapel, Paul returned to Bowmanville after the sudden death of his father. Paul is an avid golfer, fisherman, skier, snowmobiler and outdoor enthusiast. Even though Paul has retired, he still remains active in the business and is a key member of the Morris Funeral Chapel team. |
![]() | Kelly Chatterton, Funeral Director Kelly Chatterton joined Morris Funeral Chapel in 2017. She has been a licensed funeral director since 2012. Born and raised in Orono, Kelly and her family have deep roots in the community. Kelly looks forward to serving the community for many years to come. |

Kellie graduated from Humber’s funeral service program in 2011 and obtained her license in 2012. Knowing that not all families are the same Kellie takes pride in being able to work alongside families to provide unique traditional funeral services or a basic service a family may be looking for. |
![]() | Gary M. Conway, (Retired) Gary joined the Morris Funeral Chapel Ltd. in 1960 when he walked across the street from Bowmanville High School in his graduating year looking for a summer job. C. G. Ted Morris hired Gary on a probation period that to our knowledge he is still on. Gary apprenticed with Morris Funeral Chapel Ltd. and attended the University of Toronto where he graduated as a licensed funeral director in 1962. Gary is as much a part of Morris Funeral Chapel Ltd. as the foundation stones that the current building sits on. The present chapel opened in 1960 and Gary has always been a committed and a trusted part of Morris Funeral Chapel Ltd. Gary is in charge even when the boss isn't on holidays. Gary checks and double checks everybody's work and files, he doesn't have a lot of faith in computers, they're prone to human error. During Gary's 43+ years of service we know of only four sick days he has ever taken off. Gary is the most respected member of the staff and his experience is invaluable. Gary has a passion for travelling and visiting Antigua where his wife Rose-Marie was born. A dedicated funeral director who knows no bounds when called upon to serve the clientel in need even when he is off duty. Gary enjoys a good thought provoking game of bridge and makes serious attempts at mastering the game of golf. A member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Gary spends his free time reading every word in any newspaper he can find. Gary retired November 30, 2006 but is currently working on a part-time basis. |
