Mark,Shane and Jennifer(Juniper), I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad. So many memories come to mind,yet that picture of Norm is how I remember him best. A warm wave greeting,smiling with a mischievous glint in his eyes. Your Dad made your house a home,one so many of your friends and family always felt welcome at.Within that caring circle laughter,tears,music,conversation and a sense of caring for others always held sway.Norm loved his music, knew his classic country and bluegrass,and wherever the guitars were at a gathering,that's where he was.How many times I'd stop by and hear Merle,Hank,Mac or George on the kitchen stereo,knock and be welcomed in by your Dad,you nowhere to be found.Didn't matter,stay and have a chat,laugh and never felt like you were unwelcome.And despite the challenge of raising three kids without your Mom, your Dad kept a wonderful sense of youthful joy and humour.The ability to laugh with life,something I see so clearly in his children(the legendary flaming marshmallow to the head incident comes to mind)supported his fierce love of his family.Your Dad was a truly kind,caring,interesting person.I can say that knowing him as your Dad,and as a friend was a gift. I'll miss him. Tonight I'll have a glass of rye and put Mac Wiseman on the record player.That seems about right .Fly safely Normie. Todd
